Trumps lead will only increase after this Tuesday’s sweep of the northeast states. If Trump pulls off the win in Indiana, then it’s really the last nail in the coffin for Cruz. It will show his appeal has faded, even in the mid west.

The California will vote overwhelmingly in Trumps favor, and then this long hard race is finally over!

“The main reason we are voting Cruz in the Pennsylvania primary on April 26 is to make sure he finishes ahead of the Soros stooge Kasich. Trump is going to win big anyway. It needs to come down to Trump vs. Cruz before the GOPe gives up their fantasy of a brokered convention.”

With respect (and I REALLY mean that), if your goal is to transmit to the GOPe the idea that a brokered convention is unacceptable and unrealistic, then the best way to do that is to make sure that Trump gets over 1,237 ASAP. If Trump wins big in PA and other states on 4/26, and even squeaks through a win in Indiana on 5/3, then it will be over, and even the GOPe will have to deal with it. But if people continue to vote for EITHER Cruz or Kasich, then the brokered convention fantasy will stay alive. Right now, neither one can possibly win on the 1st ballot, so the ONLY reason that they’re in the race IS TO HAVE A BROKERED CONVENTION. If your goal is to stop that, then from a logical P.O.V. why support either one of them?

This is basically over at this point - Trump has a lead of about 300 delegates, and is poised to win big next Tuesday. Money and interest in Cruz are waning, and the momentum will be unstoppable after next week. THIS is why the Indiana polling is showing Trump leading now - because it is about over. Why postpone the inevitable, when doing so can ONLY benefit Hillary?

I couldn’t imagine voting for Ted Cruz for ANY reason.

I agree 100%. Don’t waste a vote and why take a chance?

One vote wins all. Crossover by D and I allowed. ( several D friends have Trump signs)
BTW Bloomington is ultra liberal. I wouldn’t trust any poll from that station

Cleary I don't. Enlighten me, please on the demographic differences, etc. between downstate Illinois and Indiana.

Religious. My Lutheran neighbors were all D when I moved here. When the party stood by the rapist WJC they all switch to R. We have no democrat public officials in the entire county. Sometime can’t find a person to run D
Their sure are a lot of Trump signs in the neighborhood. Not one Cruz or Kasich

We need to vote for the nominee against Hillary. Her election would be a disaster for the United States.

Same here. Every time I think about going into the poll booth with Hillary and Mr. Trump to choose from the taste of bile ruins my day.

This was actually not the first statewide poll for Indiana. A group called Bellweather ran a poll from December 2–9, 2015 (3.5% margin of error; sample 670) that showed:

-Trump: 26%
-Cruz: 17%
-Rubio: 17%
-Carson: 16%
-Bush: 6%, etc.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statewide_opinion_polling_for_the_Republican_Party_presidential_primaries,_2016#Indiana

It might be worth noting that Trump made his controversial Muslim ban statement on Dec. 7, while this poll was being conducted. He went up in several polls by about 10% after the proposal.

Voting for Cruz in the PA primary will make a brokered convention more likely, not less. Many of the unbound delegates have already said that they would support whoever won their congressional district. If Cruz wins several congressional districts in PA that means that Trump will find it more difficult to reach the required 1237 delegates needed to prevent a brokered convention. The more delegates he receives the sooner this can be wrapped up with no threat that the GOPe will install their own nominee, and Trump can turn his full attention to Hillary, instead of having to wait until July.

Please vote Trump if you don’t want to see a GOPe tinkered with convention. He needs every single delegate he can get. I would also encourage you to look up online the names of the delegates who have already pledged to support Trump or the winner of the state (which will also be Trump), so you vote for the right unbound delegates too.

Cruz won't win my district. It is in the SW area of Pennsylvania where Trump will easily break 50%, maybe even better than 60%.

If I lived near Philadelphia or some other girly-man area of the Commonwealth, I might vote differently.
