“From a practical perspective, we are probably headed to the point where we will have only individual (one person at a time) bathrooms.”
Sounds like a good solution. Suddenly, the whole issue just goes away.
Not that I love Germany, but in 1974 I attended the University of for the summer. I was taking a shower in ‘Hommen’ shower and a lady asked if I would share the shampoo I was using. Said she could not get the brand in Deutschland. In a bar, I was about to take a crap in the ‘Dammen’ restroom, but it was so filthy I pinched by arse until the stall in the ‘Homme’ room was clear.
How about 3 rest rooms -— “Women’s”, “Men’s”, and “Whatever”?
One at a time and I wouldn’t mind pay as you go. A good business opportunity. I’d pay more for a known clean one.
” Suddenly, the whole issue just goes away.”
No, it doesn’t. The problem isn’t guys using the women’s room, but a society that deliberately ignores obvious and fundamental reality.
In the NEW story of “The Emperor With No Clothes”, the boy who points out he is naked is beaten to death to prevent embarrassing the Emperor!
A society that rejects reality cannot survive.
Probably not. Do you put a urinal in the "family" restrooms to try and keep the toilet seat relatively clean for a little longer? If you do, then that's discrimination. If you don't, then women have to deal with messy men.
If you replace multi-person restrooms, then you need to have many more "family" restrooms to handle the same number of people... a business may have to devote half their square footage to a large number of restrooms.
“Sounds like a good solution. Suddenly, the whole issue just goes away.”
It does until some lures a child into one of these rooms, locks the door, has his way with him/her, and then slips away.
