Not surprising given that Hoover was Himmler’s pen pal and organized the FBI around the lines of the SS.
Meyer Lansky and Bugsy Siegel to name a couple. There were tons of them.
The gun control “Sullivan Act” in NYC was ostensibly to ban handguns to Jewish Gangsters who were taking over the old Irish gang territories.

Jews were heavily entrenched in organized crime in the US in the 30s-40s-50s.
What interests me more is the global attempt by Jewry worldwide to harm the economy of Germany in the 1930s.
They were very organized, and many German (and non German) writings of the day reference this mass boycott.
The boycott hurt Germany, and IMO had the effect of turning the average German toward Hitler moreso than they normally would have turned to him.
When Hitler railed against a wordwide attempt by Jews to destroy Germany, there was a kernel of truth to that.
It’s a fascinating, little-known (by modern people) movement and I wish there was more written about it.
Do you have a source for that? Because the FBI was around long before the SS. Hoover became head of the FBI a year before the earliest SS formation, although I am guessing it was pretty amateur for several years after that.

Hitler only came to power in the spring of 1933 and spent most of the year consolidating his power. Some measures constricting Jewish rights were passed, but the coup de grace, the Nuremberg Laws were not passed until 1935. In 1933 there were no deportations, no camps and no mass murders. This guy was a time traveler?

I think people in some Jewish communities knew about Hilter before he came to power. Sure, the average U.S. person might not be familiar with Hitler in 1933, but let's not forget, there were Jewish people from Germany in the U.S.
Hitler hadn't made his feeling about Jews a secret before he came to power. I don't find it hard to believe Jews would greet Hitler coming to power with extreme antipathy. I don't know if there was a concrete plot, but it doesn't surprise me that they would be trash talking him.
Regarding Dutch Schultz being a Lutheran (I recognize that you were jesting), in fact, he died a Catholic and received the last rites of the church. I think it was Bob Considine who thereafter wrote, in words or substance, “Oh my God! Dutch Schultz is in heaven!”

Given that their actions pretty much violate every commandment in the OT, I have a hard time believing that they are sincere believers, regardless of their attire. Isn't possible that their attire is more an affiliation with their culture rather than the belief structure?
