Since ABC's Scandal's winter finale in November ended with lead Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) heartlessly killing her unborn baby to the tune of the Christmas hymn "Silent Night," the abortion has not been mentioned on the show. In fact, creator Shonda Rhimes was undecided about if she would bring it up again. When asked when President Fitzgerald Grant would find out Olivia aborted their baby, Rhimes responded, "My question is, does he have to? A woman made a choice about her body that she legally has the right to make. I haven’t actually decided, but I wonder sometimes." Well, Fitz still doesn't know, but now, finally, someone else does and the revelation of the abortion became a major plot point in tonight's episode "Trump Card."
Olivia and her former-employee-turned-campaign-nemesis, Abby Whelan (Darby Stanchfield), are discussing the oppo research they have on each other's candidates. Abby found out about the abortion, but didn't want to share that information to protect her friend, going so far as to let her candidate drop out of the race.
Olivia is unapologetic about the abortion, declaring she's "not ashamed at all" and wouldn't have been hurt by the revelation. And she doesn't even seem all that upset about how much it would hurt Fitz to know the truth.

Another reason why I don’t watch this dumb show. I think I watched part of an episode once and it was just so stupid that I bailed. I don’t watch TV either but rather use Netflix and Amazon to control what I want to watch rather than just being forced to watch what’s on TV.
That’s why the extent of my show watching these days is KDramas, I don’t deal with the filth on American television these days.
Killing babies is TV entertainment for the ungodly, along with the rape and murder of women, which happens in multiple shows every week.
No wonder the USA has such high rates of mental illness and crime.
I watched this show until this horriffic episode. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing!
Whatever this woman puts on TV I’m not watching.
In about 20 years a lonely Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) may be wondering what it would be like having their daughter graduating from college. There will be something missing in her life. The person that would probably be closest to them will be missing in their life.
She may pass it off now as nothing but there will be times in her life.
This is demonic.
This series is as wrong as two guys having sex with each other which was the scene I saw when I turned to this show. I turned it to another station immediately once I got over that they were showing that on network TV. Wont make that mistake ever again.
She said the “woman made the choice about her body” notice she doesn’t mention the BABY SHE HAS SLAUGHTERED..to liberal lunatics babies have no rights
Its not her body she’s aborting.
Now if she wants to carve out her own liver or spleen or pancreas, have at it.
How vile TV has become!
