The reason is that I absolutely cannot abide any sort of pausing, buffering, pixelation, lipsync or other flaws while watching something. When I have missed a show on ABC, NBC, etc. I will suffer through these problems just so I don’t miss the story but I don’t consider it acceptable for cord cutting.

What do you got? Dial-up? If you have standard broadband internet service, Netflix works like a glove.

Supposed to be 45Mbs from TimeWarner Cable. I usually am lucky to measure 27Mbs using dslReports speedtest tool.

Still, with Win8.1 and a wifi modem 50 feet away, the hiccoughs could be other reasons. A wired connection to a dedicated Roku or other device might make all the difference.
