My possible scenario:

1. Obama endorses Hillary securing the love of her supporters.
2. The FBI recommends an indictment.
3. Obama gives Loretta a thumbs up (as planned).
4. Obama gives a big speech explaining his need for upholding the law.
5. Obama believes only (fill in the blank) can lead the Dems to victory in November.
6. Fill in the Blank wins the nomination with the help of the SuperDelegates.
7. Obama sleeps with Sweet Legacy Dreams

No one can recommend an indictment. It is for a grand jury to decide. The DOJ can opt not to convene a GJ, but I think that will be worse for them. In my opinion it all rests on Comey. If he thinks he has enough to take toa GJ, and the Lynch declines to do so, I think he will do what it takes to force her hand. Everything I have ever heard about him says he is stand up. I believe there are still enough principled folks in the FBI to push the issue..

I agree with every point. People are making too much of Obama’s endorsement. OF COURSE he endorsed HRC. Sitting Presidents always (eventually) endorse their party's nominees. When the FBI report comes out, Obama will claim (semi-plausibly) that much in it about the Clinton Family Foundation was news to him. DOJ either will indict or recommend a special prosecutor be appointed. Behind the scenes, Obama will tell HRC, “I'll fully pardon you and all your cronies as I walk out the White House door, but only if you step aside and let someone else be the Dem running for President.” HRC will accept the offer because the PR surrounding the, say, special prosecutor, may help Trump win, and if Obama doesn't pardon her, you can bet President Trump won't.

Don't lose hope, Freepers. That's exactly what HRC is banking on.
