One wonders upon whom the character "Jolene" was based for the tune or if a real person at all?
Will have to Google that one to see if anything can be found about the origins...

According to modern movements in “Christian counseling” this is misogynistic projection, because sexual predation is strictly a male characteristic, and women only want relationships, never a string of sexual conquests.

Obviously no women like this “Jolene” person have ever existed, and if they did they wouldn't want some other woman's man. The only way relations of that sort occur is because the lust of the men victimized them.

If you think events like those described in this song ever happen, you need to spend $1200 to $1400 for an “Every Man's Battle” workshop. Your lust is out of control.

And don't go saying that sin is a human characteristic, not just a male characteristic. Step out of your denial. And spend your money.
