Everything else you said was right. This is wrong. First, it’s almost impossible for a Muslim to do everything right. When salvation is faith AND works-based, how do you know you’ve done enough works? You must give your whole self to Allah. So does that mean if you indulge yourself even a little, rather than working for Allah all the time, you won’t make it? [In fairness, they do believe some will only go to hell temporarily. Once all their imperfections are burned off, they’ll transition to paradise.]
Secondly, honest Muslims (there are a few) ADMIT thst Allah is capricious, whimsical and full of surprises. Any pretext, however minor, is sufficient to cast a Muslim into hell. According to a generalized understanding of islam, you could end up in hell when you least suspect it; Allah might simply have been in a bad mood when your number came up.

it’s infinite. The two kinds of people from my high school who turned out to be gay were 1. the effeminate ones who everyone pretty much knew were gay from about 5th grade on. and 2. the assholes who tormented the ones everyone knew to be gay. The latter camp, if they’re not out of the closet, have been through as many as 4 marriages usually with very pretty women that always seem to end abruptly after 3-4 years.
If someone truly intensely believes homosexuality is EVIL, as opposed to just “something I ain’t interested in at all” then it very often is a combination of a conservative religious upbringing with intense guilt over his the secret shame of homosexuality.

I'm suspicious of what she is saying...It is more likely the FBI said at the end of the interview that she should not speak to the media about any of this [while it is an active investigation]. Either way I can feel the spin of this as a gay hate crime and not an act of terrorism by Islam and that is wrong and unfortunate-- this guy was radicalized.
