I actually agree with you.

However I agree with this ruling because Islam likes to impost it’s rules on everyone else. It’s best to ban it strait up before they start pushing shria law on the rest of us.

Having lived five years in Saudi Arabia, I must say that we were TOLD the "rules" before we went over there. We obeyed their rules because we were guests in their country making a PILE of dough...and not having to pay a single penny to the IRS on the first $80,000.00 we made...and that was in the early 1980's.

The ONLY reason to go over there IS to make a PILE of money and return home. We also had the chance to travel all over the world...another perk we took advantage of: China, India, Egypt (twice, it was so nice), Jordan, Syria...all fabulous places.

Because we knew the rules and followed them we NEVER had any trouble. There WERE American morons, unfortunately, who thought that Saudi rules didn't apply to them. The American men ended up in Saudi jails and the wives were sent home. Not pretty.
They paid a high price for their stupidity.

We were NOT encouraged to become Muslims. The Saudis KNEW we were Christians, respected our faith and had priests, ONE vicar and ministers for us over there. I learned to appreciate DAILY Mass, 9:00 A.M. over there from my Saudi Muslim boss. He encouraged me to go every day and didn't require that I make up the missed time. I always did but he said that "God is number one. There is always time for God" and I could go to pray whenever I wanted to.

The media here print only the hateful stuff about Muslims...and the American public eats it up and believes that all Muslims are killer a-holes. So not true.

But, it's a giant waste of breath to try to explain how we lived over there...so I just don't even try.

Happy July 4th!!

I DID kiss the linonleum at LAX airport when we finally got home for good. It WAS SOOOO good to be back home here in the WONDERFUL USA!!

They can do what ever they want in their country I quite agree. When they are in our house it’s our rules. They are very rude when they come to our house and tell us we have to follow their rules. They either act civil or go home.

When those young Saudi men first get here they "break loose" because of all the restraints they live under.
But, they grow up too. They, as the women, are NOT free to choose whom they marry. ALL the marriages there are arranged by the women of the family. Yes, there are a slim few who marry for love, but those are usually with Western women...and those, for the most part, end up in divorce.

So, the men know that if there are any "wild oats" to sow, they had better do it while they can...here.
For once they marry, it's for good...and divorce is shame for ALL the extended families, so it's not a good thing, especially for the children. At least they don't have the "machismo" of my Mexican male relatives.
Mexican men grow up either at fourteen years old...or forty.
