My GGGG Grandfather and GGG Grandfather were with Colonel Campbell’s Virginians that came down to the Carolinas for the battles of King’s Mountain and Guilford Courthouse.
Am I THAT old ?!?!
Am I THAT old ?!?!
It was the Revolutionary War 235 years ago.
Our family history became a really strange personal journey for my family. Our ancestors were paid for their military service in land grants in Alabama. I was raised in North Georgia and my Dad was transferred by GE to Huntsville, Alabama in 1966. When that job ended in 1968 he was transferred to Waynesboro, VA in Augusta County where he retired from GE and moved back to North Georgia.
It was a few years later that my Aunt's genealogy search found that our ancestors originally came from that same area of Virginia where our family lived and our ancestors were included on a plaque in the Huntsville, AL Courthouse as Revolutionary War veterans and founding citizens of Madison County, AL. We had backtracked their 200 year ago journey. Cosmic synchronicity is a wonder to behold.
Thanx.
Thank you for posting.
