Not a slam on Dobies, per se, I was just always under the impression that they are the least intelligent dog known, they are simply instinct-driven.

Dobies are actually quite smart,at least the ones I've known.Plus rescue dogs are always the most grateful.Once they get a home they will protect it with everything they've got.

You have never known a Doberman.

I have had other dogs and hands down the Dobies I knew were the smartest.

Their problem solving skills are very good.

No, that would be Afghans and Irish Wolf Hounds. On the intelligence scale they were voted one notch above furniture. That sounds about right.

Lol. Not even close. Dobbies are smart, as are German Shepards. Grand Pyrenees are also smart. For small dogs, take any working dog such as a Border Collie or Aussie Shepard.

Meat some smart Yorkies, but most are dumb as bricks.

Smart dogs take a lot of work. You don’t want them bored. They can get very creative in their boredom. But they’re worth it!

PS Only smarter animals I’ve worked with are 3/4 wolves (legal here in Texas). You DEFINITELY don’t want to let them get bored!

My sister has a Doberman who is very intelligent and very sweet. A great big baby.

Dobies were bred to bite.

They were not bred to be bite-averse like many other breeds.
