This is really gross, I can just imagine what they have been feeding those rats in China and it sure wouldn’t be rat chow.
With no controlling moral authority, what reason do they have not to do this?

Never, never, never buy foodstuffs from Asia. That includes all this tilapia that’s being shipped in and sold as fresh fish.
In Vietnam the tilapia is grown in the Mekong Delta area in cages erected in the river. Just on the bank are clusters of shacks on stilts that house those doing the fish farming. A round hole is cut in the floor of the shack and that’s where the family shoves their ass when they take a crap that falls right into the Mekong.
Well, you can be sure that the rats won’t have been pumped full of antibiotics, growth hormones, etc.
Rat: the new health and “environment-friendly” meat.

The only real solution is to stop buying food processed in China.
GOOD point! why the hell is it good business to ship American chickens (on factory ships) to China to “process” and then send back to us?

You know, possums look like giant rats. I think frontiersmen and settlers ate them fairly regularly, but that could be part of the reason life expectancy was in the 40s, and 50s back in those days.

Where I live, we have a LOT of edible wildlife. People eat squirrel (a favorite, surprisingly), Racoon, Deer, turkey, but nobody will touch Possum. I think they feel the same way about Skunk, btw...
I would never mistake squirrel for chicken -- so, I probably wouldn't be fooled by rat meat.

Actually, we have lice ridden, disease carrying Norwegion rats. In the PI, Thailand and VN (Probably others) they have rats that only eat rice and other vegetable matter. Quite tasty, actually. I went on a rat hunt in a Thailand rice paddy and it was interesting, ecological and had a hell of a feast with Thai Rangers.
In China a “a pack of dogs” has a whole ‘nother meaning.
