Hillary Clinton's campaign is in contact with Donald Trump's co-author as the team looks for ways to get under Trump's skin during the upcoming presidential debates, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
Clinton's campaign reached out to Tony Schwartz, the co-author of "The Art of the Deal," looking to get information about the GOP presidential nominee's insecurities.
The Democratic nominee's team thinks Trump is most insecure about his "intelligence, his net worth and his image as a successful businessman," the Times reported.
Schwartz, who worked with Trump in the 1980s, has come out in strong opposition to the businessman.
In an earlier interview with The New Yorker, Schwartz said he "put lipstick on a pig" with the "Art of the Deal," adding he feels a "deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is."
Schwartz also said that he "never in a million years" thought Trump would run for president.
"It's a terrifying thing," he said, calling the Republican nominee "insecure," "easily provoked" and not "nearly as smart as people might imagine."
In an interview with The New York Times, Schwartz didn't comment about interactions he's had with the Clinton campaign but talked about some of Trump's problems.
Trump has severe attention problems and simply cannot take in complex information he will be unable to practice for these debates, Schwartz told the newspaper.
Trump will bring nothing but his bluster to the debates. Hell use sixth-grade language, he will repeat himself many times, he wont complete sentences, and he wont say anything of substance.
Still, Schwartz issued a warning for the Democratic nominee.

What is she gonna do, stand there and shout “New Jersey Generals. USFL!” at him all night long?
“In an earlier interview with The New Yorker, Schwartz said he “put lipstick on a pig” with the “Art of the Deal,” adding he feels a “deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is.”
You have to wonder how much New York real estate the income from the sales of the “Art of the Deal” brought to this jerk.
wow - talk about desperation... the debates are gonna be good.
and yes, we need to keep that loon Johnson OUT.
Oh she’s just so smart and that’s her one weakness, looking too smart. Okay.
I wonder who’s ex-wife Trump is using as a stand in for Hillary?
BAHAHAHAHA!
Tony Schwartz sounds like a bitter loser. Look where Trump is today, and look where Tony is. Tony is still clinging to the one little thing on his resume.
Schwartz just gave Trump the key to winning the debates. Do not use 6th grade language. Complete all sentences. Say something of substance. If Trump does that Hitlery is toast.
And here I thought they'd be honing up on presenting her policies in the best light, silly me. Instead, all the little bitches are trying to figure out how the big bitch can be effectively bitchy to Daddy. Well, live like a slut, think like a slut, and that's all they really are.
"Reaching out" - Lol. Good Lord I'm sick of all this feebleminded, calculating soccer mom talk. What a bunch of depraved morons.
Schwartz will say anything the Clintons pay him to say. Totally Bogus!
Get plenty of rest Hillary.

Trump has severe attention problems and simply cannot take in complex information he will be unable to practice for these debates, Schwartz told the newspaper.
ok Conway prove them wrong!!! Up to you now..ball on your court!! Don't know if this a bait to y'all to change debate preparation ....just get it done!!!
A thirty year old book, huh?
Trump has a private life as a private citizen as we as voters do...but Hillary doesn't have a ‘private’ life, people who are in ‘politics’ are open to the public...
Trump, no matter what he did in his private life was news anyway, his ‘women’ his ‘wives’ his ‘children’ his ‘business’ how many spoons he ate soup with; how many times he left his office; who he had lunch with and how long and what he ate; who he had dinner with, where and how long and what did they talk about; when he went to a fight, there were pictures of him all over, when he got out of his limo, there was pictures everywhere, what he was wearing, how much his suit cost; where was he going at 6 a.m. in the morning heading to the airport to get on his plane, who was going, where they were going...
So I ask, just what good does this do to find out about Trump, he has been an open book all his life, his father was the same...the ‘bankruptcy’ were chapter 11, they had to be paid off, not news, old news...
Where Hillary is concerned is the new emails that landed today...and the ones coming before this debate...oh and don't forget that Bob Bennett went to London to get the ‘letters that Trump and Princess Di’ wrote to each other, only problem was he couldn't get them, ended up in a pub, got drunk and was thrown in jail for 3 days because he whacked some guy...so what possiblably could be in ‘those letters’ hmmmmm....
No, Hillary is preparing on all the wrong things, oh and I did see that she is going to bring up ‘his hands’ like ‘Little Marco’ did in the debates...I know what it means but there's a heck of a lot more to loving than the size of your hands...she undoubtedly doesn't understand this because she is a lesbian....
Which will make him a shoe-in for the typical audience of these sham-debates.
Excellent and credible article here:
Or, Trump was just bored around Schwartz. Incidentally, what was it that Huma said about Hillary getting ‘confused’?
