If this was an isolated incident I would not think to much about it. However it is far from an isolated incident and I can see why her handlers are trying to keep her out of sight. IMHO she has multiple medical issues.

A friend of mine coughed like that without having any cold or infection. They finally found she was suffering from congestive heart failure. Surely her doctor has looked for that.

Looking at her kankles and knowing as much medical history as we do... it seems pretty obvious that she has congestive heart failure among other things. She most likely is on heavy duty corticosteroid medications such as Prednisone which are causing her coughing fits and raspy voice. Trump needs to keep pushing hard and insist that the debates are long (2+ hours) and that the candidates must stand on the stage without assistance the entire time... oh and no bathroom breaks permitted. She can just wear her jumbo sized “oops I crapped my pants” pads under her weebly pant suits those nights.
I watched it— what a disaster— she started coughing from the get go.
You know she gets incontinent of urine everytime she coughs that hard.
She must really be miserable ...
Embarrassing, and if I were her, I would come clean on what the deal is unless it is a stall tactic.
Why didn’t Kaine go up there and start talking while she was having her fit?
She pops a drop(?) into her mouth, Kaine offers her one, and an aide gives her one.
She grows pale, voice faltering, continues to cough.

She could barely speak, but she still managed to lie and blame her cough on an allergy.
I know allergies, Hillary, and that was no allergy.
This was painful to watch.
So she tried a couple of drinks of water, then took a pill or lozenge or something.
Then she kept coughing.
Kaine tried to buy her some time by clapping for as long as possible.
