The Associations' version was the first recorded for this song. Numerous covers of the song were done over the years, with the 5th Dimensions' cover the highest rated version outside of The Associations.
For sure the Fifth Dimension had more talented vocalists than The Association. But I think the latter had the better version. Probably due to the instrumental arrangement.
