I’ll tell you what to think: it’s awful. It means a Republican has to beat 2 Democrats to win the seat.
If a republican cannot finish #2 between the split of two demos, it’s very unlikely they would ever win.
If you have both demos, one may have to take a more conservative stance. Or it could be they both try to be more liberal.
