Social media is certainly a factor. Having to seek the approval of your Facebook friends 24/7/365 must drive one plumb loco.
Did I say it wasn’t typical? It is rather typical of a kid who has to go to grad school right away and who is not inundated with scholarships, which, for any other non Hispanic kid out of Texas is typical
If good school at a university and a grad school is 120 which it is then what is regular undergrad. Any kid coming out of A &M has $60 grand These kids live with their parents are on parents cell phone plan and insurance what is that as a kind of thing to look forward to?
Community college is a good option it takes a lot of planning. Working during school is very ill advised even if 80% of the country disagrees with me. There’s time for studying tgen working. I work with a lot of girls who work go to school ‘take care of’ children and husbands. It is insanity
Go to school then work and pay it back to some degree tgen get married then have kids then tell the kids what to do to have a good life
One thing about tuition rates: parents in this country have allowed it to go out of control.
I recently unloaded on some dude at a party who said he was depressed. I explained that depression is a clinical term for a defined medical condition. I looked him straight in the eye and asked whether he was medically ill, or simply unhappy. And if just unhappy, whether he thought he might have some input to, or responsibility for, his own state of happiness. He sheepishly admitted he was unhappy. I smiled and said, "We're all unhappy on occasion, the trick is to realize that you may be the cause of your own unhappiness and as such, might have the ability to solve it yourself."
Jazz hands?
Who has been the President during this time?
understood
one reason tuition has gone sky high is all the subsidies and grants and loans and scholarships that are available
very liberal, easy borrowing opportunities if you are a student....lots of loans to students who have no realistic plan to put themselves into financial circumstances enabling them to repay the debt
maybe some or most of the $$ being lent for bullkrap majors..... should be redirected to help majors in medicine, nursing, engineering, and business?
just a thought. most of those students should be able to at least repay their loans, someday
Because they are sensitive little snowflakes with such entitlement mentality that they cannot handle anything they don’t like.
They’ve been protected into being absolutely incapacitated when it comes to dealing with real life.
I'll speculate that one reason for the sudden increase in mental health appointments might be that the Psychiatrists are writing prescriptions for popular drugs, which are then paid for by ObamaCare or the University health plan.
I have some living with me. They seem to lack emotional stamina or maturity. The slightest negativity or disappointment sends them into tailspin. Everyone or everything must be a certain way, otherwise they'll crack up.
Some got married, but I wonder if they'll stay married. I wouldn't be surprised if serial divorce becomes the norm.
I'm going to go with the suggestion that returning snowflakes abruptly discover that college gets increasingly harder from the freshman to sophomore year.

Chalk drawings of Trump!
Clowns!
No wonder these delicate little snowflakes need safe places.
It is a big scary world out here.
Boo!
[That sent 2 dozen rushing to therapy.]
Of course back in the day, bar crawling at TOSU was the mental health therapy. However gone are the Agora, Char Bar,The Library, plus the North Berg and the South Berg. High Street is now sterile
The kids create Krazy, but they don’t do Krazy.
And let’s not forget the role of entire faculties of Leftist and moronic professors who push unreality for a living.
No surprise at all the going to college is like Alice Through the Looking Glass.
That parchment would have disintegrated long ago, my friend! :-)
doesn't want the cameras to see how much help it needs to get in
damn... wrong thread
“Too many of our young people have been raised to believe they are special”
There was a news story early this summer. A bunch of interns at some company didn’t like the dress code. They all wrote and signed a petition demanding a change and sent it to management. Management shortly called them in and fired the lot!!!
If I was one of these snowflake’s parent, I would call this company and thank them profusely.
Got Love Millennial.
