Given two terrible choices, a depressing number of voters have responded in the worst way.
Yes, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are terrible presidential candidates, but not all of the blame for this thoroughly depressing election year can be placed at their feet. The primaries gave the general electorate two bad, disliked, dishonest, vindictive options . . . and in far too many cases, the general electorate responded appallingly, making a crummy situation worse.

When Andy Jackson was robbed of the presidency by Congress, fights broke out across the country. Speaking of Jackson, in his day an insult was settled by pistol duels. He killed several people that way, including a lawyer who had 26 previous duel kills to his name.
Abraham Lincoln had to deal with a Civil War. A multitude of Presidents (mostly dems) have had torrid affairs while holding office. Truman's and LBJ's language would make a sailor blush.
So Jimmy, stop with the pearl clutching, you pussy. The bottom line is you hate Trump, despite the fact that the conservative base of this country finds him to be the best thing since Reagan. You hate him because he's not a neocon like your fellow liberals at NR.
You and the open borders parasites at NR can take a flying leap. (I will note that McCarthy, VD Hanson, and Krikorien plan to vote Trump). Trump is finally kicking in the teeth of the Media, and due strictly to your idiotic choices at NR, that Media includes your rag. Which BTW has seen a precipitous drop in readership.
+1 Perfect summary.
The media gave us Trump as they thought he was the most defeat able. His press during the primaries was very good. They turned on him like pack of hungry jackals 10 seconds after he won the nomination.
The press also gave us Hillary Clinton and have supported her in the primaries and general.
The bucket of deplorable is the press. They do lie outright and also lie by omission of anything bad for Hillary. If the press were honest she would be way down in the polls.
Good on you, for posting some factual history, but you left out the fact that Mrs. Jackson was under such stress from the terrible smears and mud slinging, that she died shortly after Andy became the president.
These "look down their noses" damned GOPEers, are morons! We wanted ( still want Trump); however, Hillary was FORCED on the populace by the the DEM "elites", big corporations, a lot of GOPers, and Soros and FOREIGN money!
Jim Geraghty , an irreverent idiot looking for a way to pay his Obamacare bill.
What is the matter with NR?
Have they lost their collective minds?
Have they been infiltrated by Hillary’s goons?
NRO....the home of idiots
I don’t quite buy the “media gave us Trump”. They covered him to be sure, just as they do now, 24/7. But please recall the monstrous, vapors-inducing coverage he received for:
1) Calling out many illegal immigrants rapists and criminals who Mexico shoved over the border.
2) Calling for a muslim ban
3) Insulting McCain’s war record
4) Insulting Vagyn Smelly after the first debate
5) Vowing to surveil the mosques
6) Insulting Carly’s face
7) Send all illegals home
8) Calling out GWB for deception going into Iraq
9) Telling the world theat thousands of US muslims celebrated 9-11
10) Demanding that Perry take and IQ test
It goes on and on. Media Coverage yes. BUT - 90% negative and hysterical, including “conservative” media including Fox News, National Review, the WSJ, Human Events, Weekly Standard, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Salem Media, Medved, Hot Air, Hugh Hewitt, 98% of former GOP consultants, Right Scoop, The Federalist, the NY Post, Red Eye Radio, NH Union Leader, the entire British Press, the Blaze, Investors Business Daily, News Max, the Washington Times, Twitchy, Allen West, Powerline, American Spectator, Front Page Magazine, Lucianne.com, AIM, AEI, Heritage Foundation, etc, etc etc.
The ONLY positive media he had was Ingraham, Hannity, Dobbs, Coulter, Howie Carr, Savage, Breitbart, Drudge and the Conservative Treehouse.
Bingo!!
Spineless turds like the ones at National Review are what gave us Trump.
DFW Market - Can’t stand to listen to Jimmy boy. Makes the stomach churn. Dislike him so intently when his name is mentioned I’ve forgotten who he is. That helps, but only at times.
Just another wolf in sheep’s clothing.
NR was founded by “retired” CIA agent William F. Buckley, Jr. as a part of Project Mockingbird.
They were, are, and always will be a CIA front.
And, in this election, they are “with her”.
We are all learning what the folks of the third world feel like when subjected to CIA election intervention through media propaganda.
It is not a pretty sight.
The good news—the CIA candidate doesn’t always win, especially when they get their hands caught in the cookie jar.
Rich Lowry et all lost what was left of their teensy minds, long ago and have been THE loudest stupid voices in the #NEVERTRUMP group for at least a year.
:-)
The media coverage of Trump WAS negative. That helped him. He called them liars which endeared us to Trump.
I have followed Trump’s carreer with some interest over the decades and while I have never been a fan his coverage was always positive. The foaming at the mouth venom the media has sprayed at him has been frankly, over the top. They are so stupid he is playing them. We hated them before Trump. Trump makes them hate them, instantly he is some one we trust and love. A moron could have seen this but the BSM didn’t.

When Donald Trump and I observe that, as Ive said, in Syria, in Iran, in Ukraine, that the small and bullying leader of Russia has been stronger on the world stage than this administration, thats stating painful facts. Thats not an endorsement of Vladimir Putin thats an indictment of the weak and feckless leadership of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Also from the Oct 5, 2016 first VP debate...
QUIJANO (Moderator): I want to turn now to Syria. Two hundred fifty thousand people, 100,000 of them children, are under siege in Aleppo, Syria. Bunker buster bombs, cluster munitions, and incendiary weapons are being dropped on them by Russian and Syrian militaries. Does the U.S. have a responsibility to protect civilians and prevent mass casualties on this scale, Governor Pence?
PENCE: The United States of America needs to begin to exercise strong leadership to protect the vulnerable citizens and over 100,000 children in Aleppo. Hillary Clintons top priority when she became secretary of state was the Russian reset, the Russians reset.
After the Russian reset, the Russians invaded Ukraine and took over Crimea.
And the small and bullying leader of Russia is now dictating terms to the United States to the point where all the United States of America the greatest nation on Earth just withdraws from talks about a cease-fire while Vladimir Putin puts a missile defense system in Syria while he marshals the forces and begins look, we have got to begin to lean into this with strong, broad-shouldered American leadership.
It begins by rebuilding our military. And the Russians and the Chinese have been making enormous investments in the military. We have the smallest Navy since 1916. We have the lowest number of troops since the end of the Second World War. Weve got to work with Congress, and Donald Trump will, to rebuild our military and project American strength in the world.
But about Aleppo and about Syria, I truly do believe that what America ought to do right now is immediately establish safe zones, so that families and vulnerable families with children can move out of those areas, work with our Arab partners, real time, right now, to make that happen.
And secondly, I just have to tell you that the provocations by Russia need to be met with American strength.
And if Russia chooses to be involved and continue, I should say, to be involved in this barbaric attack on civilians in Aleppo, the United States of America should be prepared to use military force to strike military targets of the Assad regime to prevent them from this humanitarian crisis that is taking place in Aleppo.
Theres a broad range of other things that we ought to do, as well. We ought to deploy a missile defense shield to the Czech Republic and Poland which Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama pulled back on out of not wanting to offend the Russians back in 2009.
QUIJANO: Governor, your two minutes are up.
PENCE: Weve just got to have American strength on the world stage. When Donald Trump becomes president of the United States, the Russians and other countries in the world will know theyre dealing with a strong American president.

And....
PENCE: What were dealing with is the you know, theres an old proverb that says the Russian bear never dies, it just hibernates.
And the truth of the matter is, the weak and feckless foreign policy of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama has awakened an aggression in Russia that first appeared a few years ago with their move in Georgia, now their move into Crimea, now their move into the wider Middle East.
And all the while, all we do is fold our arms and say were not having talks anymore.
To answer your question, we just need American strength. We need to we need to marshal the resources of our allies in the region, and in the immediate, we need to act and act now to get people out of harms way.
"according to some calculations, the Uranium One deal, involving top Clinton donors Frank Guistra and Ian Telfer, has transferred as much as 50 percent of projected American uranium production to Kremlin control."
***********************************************
RUSSIAGATE
Who paid Bill Clinton's $2.5 million commission and $500k speaking fee for brokering the sale of 20% of America's uranium deposits to Russia?
You are speaking about a really interesting deal that ended up giving Vladimir Putin and the Russians control of one-fifth of all uranium production capacity in the United States.
Since uranium is considered a strategic asset, with implications for national security, the deal had to be approved by a committee composed of representatives from a number of United States government agencies. ..."
