Comey jumped in the lead on this so he can quash it. I’ll bet he got one hell of an ass chewing late last night.

I don't know about that. I agree that anything's possible, but if Comey wanted to quash this, why send the letter to congress? Why not just keep quiet and sit on whatever new information has surfaced until after the election?

Wiener appears to have been outside the protective perimeter of Cheryl Mills and her fellow fixers. Wiener was "cut loose" by the Clintonese Crime Family and was no longer under their protection. So when the FBI swooped in and seized evidence, there were no fixers to suborn the probe.
If this is the attack vector to torpedo Hillary's presidential campaign, the irony and cosmic justice will be EPIC. Think of it-- the perversions of the husband of her closest gal pal provide the means for a meaningful and politically fatal investigation.
All that fantasy laid out, I still don't trust Comey to carry off the investigation.
