Broadcast News Election Coverage: Michael Strahan Makes Political Debut in Times Square

But, the newest addition to this year’s election coverage is Michael Strahan, who recently joined ABC’s morning show “Good Morning America” where he’s typically utilized for more of the soft news stories. Tonight, the former “Live With Kelly” co-host takes on a pivotal role in ABC’s election coverage, stationed in the middle of the network’s gigantic set-up in Times Square, standing atop of the light-up map that will show the blue and red states won by either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump as the results roll in. Strahan will also interview audience members on the scene throughout the night.

I thought this was one of the most disgusting displays of the night. ABC must have spent tens of thousands of dollars, essentially organizing a block party celebration for HRC in Times Square. Their stage had a US map, set to light up as each state turned red or blue, and a fake oval office, where people could take celebratory selfies.

Obviously the plan was to go back to Strahan, every time a state turned blue, witness the crowd cheers, and have a good time. Oh, and they had a live camera feed to watch the party:

It didn't turn out that way, and they only went back once - and found a dead silent Times Square.

What sort of media outlet organizes a party for one of the candidates?

The media was so sure they had done a good job, they had a mission “DESTROY TRUMP” The people had a mission “RID OUR GOVERNMENT OF THE CLINTON MAFIA’
We won.
Hillary had plans to govern like Obama, we are their customers.
Correction Hillary, government works for us.
We are the boss-GET IT! I never heard one Democrat say Hillary had to stop lying, not one said she had to close down Clinton Foundation.
The dems over looked everything like it was just everyday life.
Now they will have time to think it over.
The glass ceiling is still intact.
