I was aware of the term years ago, and always associated it with the German word “Frau”, meaning “wife”. To be “frowzy” meant to be slovenly, ill-tempered, and overly critical of others, while failing to correct even the most glaring lapses of one’s own behavior. Almost as descriptive a word as “Schadenfreude”, an overwhelming and all-engulfing joy at another’s misfortune.

The Germans have so many good descriptive words in their language.

I first hear this word on an “I Love Lucy” show back in the 50’s.

Lucy had gotten into trouble, and the Police were given the description of a “Frouzy Redhead”.

It has been part of my vocabulary for 55 YEARS! LOL!

Cyber and I are fabulous! Going on 16 years now. Time flies!

We are “almost” ready for retirement, so six weeks ago at the high of the market, we changed the 401(k) to 25% large caps, 25% to small caps and 50% to low yielding stuff. So we still get this huge unexpected gain in the large caps! Wheee!
