As usual, they don’t fully get what happened, and even many Freepers missed the significance of the rallies.

The rallies were NOT just about getting a bunch of people together. They were a means to circumvent the drive by media and to take the message to the people-—NOT just the 10,000 at a rally, but to reach tens of thousands in local TV markets and radio markets when the LOCAL news had to cover these events. They got millions of dollars in free advertising, and better, the message-—due to the nature of local news being less dominated by “analysts”-—was undiluted. In other words, the rallies gave Trump TV time that was unfiltered.

I should have also added that I believe that, right now, Free Republic is the venue where the philosophy of conservatism is genuinely deliberated, as opposed to, say, the self-proclaimed “keepers of conservatism” like National Review, which is nothing but a fraudulent front for the moneyed elitist power-brokers.

And what energy driving the man at the center of all those rallies!

I hope I have such energy at his age.

Image of a tamer eaten by the lion comes to mind.

“The rallies were NOT just about getting a bunch of people together.”

The rallies WERE the ground game. Jesus did the same thing: instead of knocking on everyone’s doors, Jesus held rallies, bringing masses of people TO him instead of going to the people one by one.

Good point on getting rid of the press conferences.

In the modern era there are plenty of ways to share information.

We do not want MSM attempting to “set the agenda” with questions that interest them rather than the public.
