Nashville woman pepper sprayed, stabbed in lung during dispute over a man

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--An argument over a guy turned into an attempted murder case after one of the women pepper sprayed and stabbed the other.

According to the arrest affidavit for Sharonda Estleman, the 42-year-old and another woman were having a verbal dispute over a guy when Estleman allegedly sprayed the victim in the face with pepper spray. The victim told police after being sprayed and unable to defend herself, Estleman then stabbed her in the chest with a knife and fled the scene.

Police responded to the 12th Avenue North location and found the victim with a wound to the chest. She was transported to Vanderbilty University Medical Center where the victim underwent emergency surgery for a punctured and collapsed lung. Days after the surgery, detectives met with the victim who was able to identify Estleman and the person responsible for the attack.

Estleman was arrested and booked on Saturday on an attempted criminal homicide charge. She is being held on $100,000 bond at the Davidson County Jail.
