If Michelle and the administration have actually achieved healthier and higher-quality lunches, they haven’t yet arrived in the two schools in two different districts my son has attended. The lunches are mostly low-quality, of qustionable healthiness, and unappealing. Overall, I would say the quality has declined in the last eight years, and is of no comparison to the lunches I got back in the dark ages when lunch ladies could actually cook. My theory is that school districts get the subsidies, use some of it to buy cheap, low-grade food, and somebody pockets the rest of it.

“...the lunches I got back in the dark ages when lunch ladies could actually cook.”

As someone who started school on Army bases in 1958, I can attest to that. Half the time I couldn’t decide whether I liked my mom’s cooking or the lunch ladies’ cooking better.
