Termagant: A violent, turbulent, or brawling woman.
I cannot make a sentence using the word termagant because my wife will never let me hear the end of it if I do.

Hillary, world-famous termagant
Nasty, conceited and arrogant
When Florida fell
She just screamed “Go to Hell!”
To her staffers, who found that inelegant

I actually use that word to “inform” liberals of the differences between an insult and taking offense — in the context of “offending” and “hate”
For instance I if I were to speak to a woman at work and say in a pleasant voice - “you remind me of a meretricious termagant today” - she likely doesn’t know the meaning of that. But it essentially means she reminds me of a slutty b*tch.
Now while it may or may not be factual, it is arguably an insult. It is not however “offensive” or “hateful.”
She can choose to take offense in context, or since ‘today’ is Halloween, and she was trying to copy Miley Cyrus ;-) she might say ‘thank you’ if she knows the meaning of the word.
The point is to draw the distinction between insulting someone, which *IS* a deliberate act with a subject, verb and object ... and taking offense, which is an emotional inference taken by the recipient.
Food for thought.

I said “meretricious” to a dumb liberal. She said, “Same to you, and a Happy New Year!”
