FULL TITLE: Abortion Clinic Staffer: After Trump Victory, Women are Getting Abortions“As Soon as They Can,Just in Case”
Zadara Garcia is not sure how much longer she will have a job.
The 24-year-old works at a Texas abortion facility. Cosmopolitan recently talked with her about the atmosphere at her job since Republican Donald Trump won the presidential election last week.
Garcia, not her real name, said she is a patient assistant at the abortion clinic, and she always is busy. But her work has become even more hectic since the election.
On the day after the election, “I was going to call in sick — but when I got there, I was happy I came in because I didn’t have to think about it. I was busy — at the center, it’s always busy,” she said.
She told the magazine:
… we usually have quite a few missed appointments, or people call to reschedule, just to have more time to think. But since the election, barely anyone has rescheduled or missed an appointment. In the clinic, we’ve been saying that we guess everyone got nervous, and doesn’t want to miss it. Everyone is just trying to get in and be seen as soon as they can, just in case. …
Personally, I’m scared. The only negative emotion I have right now is that I wonder if I’ll have a secured job next year. I haven’t thought about what I would do, if not this, because it’s nerve-wracking. But I’m proud to be part of something that’s so controversial. I feel like I’m part of something that’s going to go down in history. Our organization is on the front lines. At our events, we’re always talking about the Supreme Court, and how the government is always trying to meddle in our uteruses, as Texas women. But we’re fighting against that. We’re standing up, standing proud, and walking into work, even when protesters are there.
Garcia also noted that pro-life “protesters” have not been outside her abortion clinic since the election. She said the situation is “weird” because pro-lifers typically showed up every single day in the past.

“They were there Monday and Tuesday before the election, in the morning. But not one protester has been here ever since the news broke about the election,” she said. “So that’s been good in a way — we haven’t gotten bothered or anything.”
Trump’s election has produced a lot of speculation about the future of abortion laws in the U.S. Trump, a recent convert to the pro-life cause, made a number of promises that could help protect many unborn babies from abortion in the future.
Trump said he will appoint “pro-life” justices to the U.S. Supreme Court and sign a bill to defund Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, as long as it keeps doing abortions. The president-elect said he also would support a measure to make permanent the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer funding of abortion in Medicaid.
What were they going to do, otherwise?

I was 12 years old in 1972 when Roe v. Wade became law. I was somewhat aware of Current Events because we had a quiz on them each week in school.
My poor Mother had to explain to me that it now was LEGAL for women to kill their unborn children for any reason, at any time. She CRIED when she explained it to me. And she went into great detail as to what an abortion entailed.
I was born in 1960 and my Sister in 1964. Having other kids in our extended family that had medical issues, (our closest cousin had CP - she lived to be 33!) Mom made it clear that EVERY life matters. You do NOT throw babies away like trash, even if they’re not perfect!

What the hell does this mean? Are women running out to get pregnant so they can have abortions?
There have been three pro life presidents since roe v wade and abortion is still legal. Trump won’t change it. At the most it will go back to the state’s.
Proving this is just birth control.
