Khalid Mohammed Abdulrahim of Bahrain wanted a Ferrari Enzo. And since his company built both the Bahrain International Circuit and the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Circuit, he could easily afford one. So, he called supercar dealers Romans International, and the collection sort of snowballed from there.
Obviously, if you have an Enzo, you might as well get a 288 GTO, an F40, and F50 and a FerrariFerrari. Oh, and a Maserati MC12, because that's basically a rarer and faster Enzo. Plus a 599 GTO and an Abarth 500. Lamborghinis are cool too, so it's not a bad idea to get a Miura, one of the twenty Reventons, a Murcielago LP670-4 SV, and an Aventador SV for good measure. And Porsches. . . everybody needs some of those!
The Carrera GT sounds the best, the 918 Spyder is amazing in every way, while the 993-faced 911 GT1 prototype is much prettier and rarer than a 996 one. 997 GT3 RS 4.0, because that engine is a masterpiece. McLarens? Sure. How about an F1 for starters? We'll need to order a matching P1, but that's no problem. SLRs are sweet too, but let's also add a CLK GTR, because there's one available of the twenty. What else...?
Phil Hill's former Jaguar E-Type? Check? A sweet Shelby Cobra? Done. Toyota 2000GT? Yes. Of course. A Lotus Exige? Splendid!

I have done work in Bahrain. It is a former British colony and is much more westernized than other middle east countries. It still has it’s islam problems that probably won’t go away.
A weaker car culture would benefit me some since there is an oldie or two I’d like to get.

There is a guy where I work that rolled into the lot in his restored 72 Chevelle SS. It was beautiful. I prefer the 67 myself. My uncle had a pristine one back in the 80s. He sold the car and doesn’t miss it.
The same guy has something I would like which is a 67 Cougar. I had one for a little while about 10 years ago and had to sell - long story.
He isn’t going to sell it and I don’t blame him. I wouldn’t either.
I sometimes look at Ebay and CL to see what’s out there. At least a year or two off with the other things on the table.
My Willys jeep and CJ7 command the lion’s share of the budget.
Pre-war cars have fallen in price and look like a steal, but the interest generally just isn’t there anymore, the people who loved them and paid a premium for them are dying off. They’ll likely stay cheap, other than the super rare, museum quality examples.
Supporting anything pre-war or even a little after is more than I care to get into.
Patching and bubble-gumming my 65 Jeep is enough. Willys did an excellent job of making their Jeeps very future unfriendly.
One of the next jobs I have slated is replacing the windshield frame and upgrading to an electric motor.
I couldn’t get the old upper hinges out of the rusted frame after a couple hours of working with them.
I’m looking at about $450 from Amazon which usually has the best deals.

Jeep stuff is high and there seems to be a premium for Willys.

Some people love those cartoonish 2CV’s but give me a DS21 Pallas, black with Tabac leather. That’s the only Citroen I want. Stunning cars, still ahead of their time fifty years later.
The one I am surprised about is the Abarth 500 (fiat/abarth 500). I would not risk riding in one of those. And they are butt ugly.
