No, he didn’t lie. Probably around the time of his nomination the reality of the deportation of the illegally-here, but otherwise law-abiding and working x-million people, he started being very specific on the immediate deportation of the criminals, and clear that it would take work to find what works to have the others leave and then come back through the front door - no citizenship whatsoever.
This is not new.
Correctamundo
The reason President elect Trump makes these statements is that the Demofascists want a bait and switch “comprehensive” amnesty deal like they got from Reagan. Trump is signalling here that isn’t happening. Of course the tantruming “true” conservatives who couldn’t be bothered to help do the heavy lifting in defeating Hillary Criminal now want to back street drive the Trump admin. Not happening.
This is old. And Trump is trying to get into the white House without scaring so many people. And he has to get the government to do what he says. If you were ever the head of a large organization you would understand that “because I say so” is not going to get you very far. You need to go for the low hanging fruit and work your way up to the harder stuff.
When you build a building you dig a hole first and lay a foundation. You don’t worry about the color of the atrium.
Exactly. I don't get the concern over Trump's statement on this. We're going to get several million of the worst illegals out of the country immediately, the wall will be built and other border security measures FINALLY applied, and we're deporting a significant portion of the illegal population immediately. All good.
Trying to compare this to the "comprehensive immigration reform" scam is silly. The first and most crucial difference is that the "Gang of 8" effort always used border security as an illusory carrot, "Just let us legalize tens of millions and we promise we'll secure the border after that." That was a promise that everyone knew was phony and would never be honored. Trump, on the other hand, is going to begin securing the border immediately. That's his first priority, along with the initial deportations.
There's no comparison between the two plans.
I’m sure the journalists have a bunch of sob stories lined up to use against Trump but it’s going to be difficult to gain sympathy for a MS-13 type with tattoos of the devil covering his face and arms.
100% agreement.
Yeah but the jebbush and the rest would be lying through their teeth when they said it.
They deliberately chose not to listen when he said that it would be only the criminals.
Hopefully, we will eventually have legal immagrants who want to be here. Who respect our laws and want to learn to speak English.
I don't know anyone who thought that.
All Trump had to do on 60 Minutes was to say that E-Verify would become mandatory on his first day in office, and that the Justice Department would selectively file civil lawsuits against employers who violated the law.
“10 to 20 million” illegals would self-deport, many of them “on day one.”
“I think that, if you want someone who is going to go out and be a very tough negotiator for America and represent American interest in the way that Trump campaigned, I think that probably Rudy is the better pick and has the right temperament.” “......That President elect Trump would be seriously considering Mittens (just another establishment RINO) triggers a lot of suspicion among his primary supporters.....
Very disconcerting.....
They deliberately chose not to listen when he said that it would be only the criminals.
No, you are deliberately choosing not to face the reality that we are not deporting 20+ million illegals after rolling out the red carpet for them the last 25 years.
Thanks for setting me straight on executive management, poinq.
Is that why Barack Obama always hires Conservatives to fill key political management jobs?
I agree.. I never heard Trump say the words I hear the antis “quote” him as saying. they use words to sensationalize and scare... it gets repeated..and then they say Trump is backtracking.
60 Minutes wasn’t part of the Thanksgiving Day Massacre?
I don’t think it is trolling to point out when Trump is backpedaling from campaign promises.
He is clearly indicating some kind of accommodation for illegal aliens who have not yet been convicted of crimes here. We should not wait until they rape or rob someone.
We should not accommodate them in any way.
No new laws for those breaking the current ones.
Go home or we send you home.
