Our power grid is so antiquated it might actually survive a massive solar storm just fine. I’d be more concerned with the trains not being able to get coal or gas to the power plant to fuel it.

You have misinformed.

The operation of the grid is highly computerized.

But your comment about trains is spot on.

The SCADA networks would be a point of failure if they aren’t sheilded I agree. I guess I’m thinking substations with their robust equipment could survive ok.
