Almost every red state has a few pockets of blue; I think your point about secession is important, I also think that secession might not be necessary, just a massive Red State unwillingness to go along with any federal laws or regulations. Although I keep seeing history from 1860-1865. Secession did not work out well the first time.

The secession worked out fine and was orderly in 1861. The war went bad. This time there will be no war because Yankees and Kalifornicators are ball-less do nothings. They will say adios to the red states and no war will take place.
