A Vallejo resident fatally shot a man Tuesday afternoon who he said had kicked in his front door, police said.

The 27-year-old man said that the intruder broke into his house in the 200 block of Reynard Lane at about 4:30 p.m.

The resident said that, in fear for his life, he shot the intruder several times and escaped out the second-floor window, according to police.

The intruder died at a hospital. Anyone with information about this incident has been asked to call Vallejo police Detective Mat Mustard at (707) 648-4515.

People just don’t break in unless they’re on pcp.

He probably has a few more steps up the department ladder before he reaches the rank of Colonel.

Mean Mr. Mustard sleeps in the park, shaves in the dark, he’s a go-getter.

A couple of years ago a house down the street had someone kick in their front door at 10:00 at night. They were upstairs in the bedroom, called the police and barricaded the door. The perps actually tried to get in the bedroom door. I guess the homeowner didn’t own a gun. What a shame.
Anyway the same perps came back a couple of days later while the owners were gone. Guess they saw something they wanted.
It’s actually the preferred way of entry here. Right through the front door.

Going out the second floor window was a good move on his part

Opportunity lost when there’s no gun. Good for the gene pool.

Not sure what you mean. I was just saying that jumping out the window helps his “I feared for my life” argument

Anything but the revolver then it will be the gun’s fault.
