Well, let's examine your post, in particular, the portion in which you wrote, "Rubio barely held his seat." That amounts to fake news and is grossly incorrect.

Rubio won his seat in a landslide a mere month ago.

Here are the numbers: Rubio received 4,835,191 votes to his opponents 4,122,088 votes. Rubio received a whopping 713,104 more votes than his challenger Murphy. No one, not even Russia would classify this as barely held his seat. Landslide is more like it.

Now let's further examine Florida's votes in the presidential election. Trump received 4,617,877 votes. That is 217,304 less votes than Rubio received. If anything, it appears Rubio dragged Trump over the finish line in Florida, as Trump got only 112,912 votes more than Hillary, a margin of only 1%.

So no, Trump is human and will need all of his skills to keep the Senate in line as Rubio has already indicated he has concerns and may vote against Rex Tillerson as SOS, if nominated. So, no, it does not appear everyone and everything is neutralized.

Rubio barely held his seat

He won by nearly 8 percentage points. That's far beyond "barely" winning - that's quite a solid victory.
