MEDIA IGNORE ANOTHER ABUSE STORY

Bill Donohue comments on the media’s selective interest in sexual abuse:

If a priest is accused of inappropriately touching a minor, it makes the news. When other segments of society—teachers, Hollywood studio executives, therapists—are accused, the media show much less interest, and sometimes practically none at all. The latter is now evident in the way most media outlets treated the story about USA Gymnastics that broke last week.

Over the years, IndyStar, the home page of the Indianapolis Star, has done fine work covering the sexual abuse of gymnasts, but nothing can compare with the report it released on December 15. It is the most comprehensive examination of USA Gymnastics ever issued (USA Gymnastics is headquartered in Indianapolis). Its investigation found widespread abuse: 115 adults at every level of the sport were accused of molestation.

The study reflects an IndyStar-USA Today Network review of “hundreds of police files and court cases across the country”; its findings are stunning.

The MSM rarely deviates from the liberal narrative. That is why they have lost the trust of most rational people. People now have multiple other sources of information and well reasoned opinion. The MSM will never regain the position it once had in American culture. Just the same the Catholic Church must rid itself of homosexual priests whatever the cost.

The molestation in the gymnastic world is not homo-sexual by any means....it is predatory males seeking sexual thrills looking at, touching, administering to, BEAUTIFUL young girls.

It is certainly understandable, but intolerable.

It depends upon how one defines, understandable; if one means, explicable, then I agree.

Speaking as an ordained minister who believes that Man is not basically good, I consider it entirely understandable.

It is my opinion that much of what drives the globalist elite’s obsession with secrecy and control has to do with their pedophilia, and the ruthless compulsion to prevent the general public from knowing the pervasive extent of it.

Look at Rotherham - ignored by TPTB, including the police, for 20 years.

Power tends to corrupt. Give most persons enough power and control over the innocent and vulnerable, and these things often - not inevitably - happen. (I have known more than one Youth Minister who fell prey to such temptation; such a man does not necessarily set out to succumb to such temptation.)

If Man were basically good, then we would not all need a Redeemer.
