With Trump Set To Accede An Otherworldly Pessimism Engulfs the Democrats
The Sun (New York) ^ | January 3, 2017 | Conrad Black

Like most people, I had hoped for the customary settling down after the tumultuous and nasty election.

We have been denied that, not by the candidates, who have been dignified, but by the outgoing administration.

I have written here and elsewhere before that this has been the most incompetent administration since James Buchanan brought on the Civil War, but I had not realized how the immunity to severe criticism afforded President Obama, because of his pigmentation, had been allowed to disguise how inept this administration has been, how authoritarian and sleazy, and how the president’s demiurgic vanity has gone almost unnoticed as the toadies and bootlickers like Tom Friedman and David Remnick went into overdrive.

Only now, when, instead of simply expressing solidarity with his party’s narrowly or even questionably defeated nominee, as Dwight Eisenhower did with Richard Nixon in 1960 and Lyndon Johnson did with Hubert Humphrey in 1968 (and even Bill Clinton slightly managed with Al Gore in 2000), President Obama has disparaged Hillary Clinton.

He said the election was “about my legacy,” and that he would have won had he been allowed constitutionally to seek a third term, and for good measure he has incited the inference that the election was determined by unspecified illegal computer-hacking by the Russian government.

Very good article. Shocking how so many have kept quiet during the administration but are now coming forth.

Have to laugh at the many Democrats I know that are right now so sullen and depressed and believe it’s the end of the world or something.

They have been so incredibly blind.

There are many off the wall posts at fringe lunatic liberal sites. One site is calling for a rejection of confirmation of the Electoral vote results on Capitol Hill! because “50 Republican electors were ineligible to vote.” Commenters there were ecstatic. Is Insanity contagious?

Decent article. He is right that there is a lot of upside for President Trump and the country.

Of course, President Obama planted a lot of land mines, left unprecedented debt and problems to solve. But there is still a lot of upside.

President Trump will be at the starting line with 500 lb weights tied to his ankles as a result of Obamas policies and ineptness, but I still think he will MAGA

Obama, in effect has destroyed the current Democrat Party!!! Worst POTUS in the history of the USA!!! The good news is, Obama leaves the White House with not one iota of any positive legacy. His term...a total, feckless, useless failure!!! He has done untold damage to African-Americans in his horrible process of events and actions. Too bad, most Black Americans cannot see how badly Obama has done them in (Chicago)!!!

But, hope glows as more and more African-Americans are getting it...Obama has done American Blacks, no favors at all!!! As for blue collar & union workers.....Obama and the Democrat Party have lost them forever!!! And...most women...too!!!

The Democrat Party is dying politically before our very eyes. All ya had to do, yesterday was look at the old hags & old men Democrat folks on the hill, and the lost look in their eyes!!! They did themselves in, by sticking with both Obama & Clinton!!! Chuck Schumer can rant & rave all he wants....the rank & file, worn out old Dems are beaten, and they know it!!!

PARAPHRASING Obama has operated the most incompetent administration since James Buchanan brought on the Civil War, but his pigmentation gave him immunity to severe criticism, disguising how inept he has been, how authoritarian and sleazy he's been; his self absorption and vanity has gone almost unnoticed as the MSM toadies and bootlickers went into overdrive.

That Obama actually believes he could have won a third term, and that the Russians helped Trump win, is a testament to his deluded thinking.

It's frightening to think this is the kind of mentality we've lived under eight years.

The aftermath is too unnerving to contemplate: a president who did nothing meaningful except count the number of brown people---foreign and domestic---getting tax dollars, and a spouse forcing school kids to eat kale chips.

The Democrats leadership bench for 60 years mainly consisted of center-right southern men, center-left mid-westerners, and by today’s standard, moderate NE libs in the 1980s sense. From the White House on down.

They gutted that because they allowed ID politics to consume them and gut those people out of their party.

Now they are full of cucky white dudes, SJWs, hard-core feminists of the 3rd and 4th wave, and militant minorities.

After the Hillary flame-out, which was supposed to buy them 8 more years, they are now facing the GOP that consists of mainly all of the people that made the Dems more than a sub-regional party.

Those crazy groups that now make up the rats will consume each other alive.

Like the pneumonia virus; the Democrats will be back someday.
The Republicans need to move fast and get as much done as they can very quickly.

Thank goodness all of us "white supremacists" had the volume turned high, so that Hillary's campaign got tuned out (smirk).

<><> like the bombshells in Hillary's emails.

<><> Podesta's shocking emails never happened.

<><> the Clinton Foundation's endless pay-to-play games.

<><> the Royal Idiot's horrendous activities that made King George look like a kindly uncle.

BACKSTORY -- A shocking revelation (indicative of the Democrat mindset steeped in looting and pillaging the US Treasury), is that Hillary's husband earned $132 million for delivering paid speeches between February 2001 and March 2015. (CNN report)

BTW, Bill Clinton received $924,000 in taxpayer dollars last year alone (by way of the Former Presidents Act).

So the question remains: how much is Obama leaving with?

And how many US govt checks will he and the missus be cashing?

I know people who were nigh near suicidal after Trump won the election. They believed all the doom and gloom scenarios put forth by leftists like Krugman.

Now that the stock market has continued to soar and business CEO’s are reacting favorably to Trump’s proposed policies, those suicidal people are starting to come around (a little).

Prior to 2010, there was a substantial and influential Blue Dog coalition in D.C.

The GOP showing in 2010 gutted that coalition. The few that survived saw the handwriting on the wall and retired or else were ousted in the following cycle.

“The Democrats leadership bench for 60 years mainly consisted of center-right southern men, center-left mid-westerners, and by today’s standard, moderate NE libs in the 1980s sense. “

Yes - in 2008 the dems tied their wagon to the most radical leftist senator there was at the time (the independent Bernie S. notwithstanding) - Barrack Hussein Obama.

They have sown the wind - let them now reap the whirlwind...
