Story doesn’t match headline.

I’ve never seen flight attendants do this. It is always the pilot as he really wants to know how the weight is distributed. A friend of mine who is 6’4”, 300 lbs, and no, he is not fat at 11% body fat, is always moved to over the wings.

He had the opportunity to fly in a Harrier but they changed their minds as the fit was too tight and would likely loose some limbs if there was a need to eject.

Six delays!? Really?
I would be coming undone too, not on my best behavior.
They should have just transferred them to another plane, if one could be made available. Looks like this air crew were not used to hearing blunt talking New Yorkers.

Have you listened to the audio? He politely asked passengers to exit the flight. He didn’t scream, curse or act like Chuck Schumer. As an American he was perfectly within his rights to talk to his fellow passengers.

what in the hell?????

When the pilot says you have to move, then you have to move!

Why didn’t they kick, the 6 people who refused to move off the plane?

They LOOK like some of the usual suspects - some gibmedats and dindu nuffins...

D'Amato is not in charge of that jetliner.
Pilot should have selected who he wanted moved and where.
Fellow passengers have zero authority on an aircraft.

They kick him off because he is trying to help by doing the Job the Pilot refused to do.

He must be an Illegal from Mexico, at least according to John McCain.

If you were in charge of the Titanic survivors, the Unsinkable Molly Brown would have gone down for the third time. Wake up!

I’ve always seen the flight attendants do this.. Never the pilots. They come on the intercom, say x number of people need to move from the front to back, etc etc.

My wife and I were on a London to KC flight through Dulles that turned from 12 hours to 47 hours.

It started with a five hour ground delay prior to takeoff on a damn wide body with every seat filled. My wife didn’t fly to speak of for four years afterward,

I probably flew four hundred flights after this and only one (bought by another department in my company) was on United. I always found a way not to give them my business.

The headline does not match the story.
Story was read focusing on the "rally" aspect.

Pilot should have directed which passengers he wanted moved.
If he was not followed, those individuals could be deplaned.

The pilot makes all executive decisions aboard the airliner.

Unless he or she delegates a decision, the captain makes all decisions aboard the aircraft. My son (the "Ace") flies for a living.

The first 5 rows on Jet Blue are the extra legroom seats. Were these seats being occupied by a bunch of overweight people. We fly Jet Blue a couple of times a month and have never seen this happen.

You really didn’t read it, did you. The point is, they asked for 6 people to move, and they didn’t. They just sat there. And the pilot was doing nothing, and the plane was just sitting there. And D’Amato was suggesting the Captain find his testicles, and order the 6 to move so that they could get underway.

Frankly, I might have done exactly what D’Amato did. Or should they just sit there all night while everyone twiddles their thumbs?

D'Amato still should not have confronted the passengers. The pilot makes all executive decisions aboard the airliner.

Oh, so you apologize?

Senator D’Amato was an very good senator done in by Ed Koch and the libs of NYC. There was no reason to believe he would act like Chuck Schumer or Hillary Clinton or any of the conceited monsters of the democrat party. As Groucho Marx used to say on tv: You should have known that.

He didn’t confront them, dummy. Listen to the audio: he politely talked to them.

Sheesh, sometimes I despair...
