I admit to being the sort of person who eats as healthy as I can but I don't freak out because "it has chemicals in it!" The Universe and everything in it is made of chemicals.
Hah! 48? You are but a child, my FRiend!
I oppose all such taxes too. I’ll drink what I want and when I want. That said, I stopped drinking soda because of the sugar, and I didn’t want to use artificial sweeteners.
The taste buds adjust. I drink unsweetened tea, and unsweetened lemonade. No cream or sugar in coffee. I like it that way. Other people like to drink stuff with lots of sugar, that’s up to them. Get the dang Government out of our everyday life, and stop their “nudging” with these crappy taxes.
Hi.
“The Universe and everything in it is made of chemicals.”
We’re all doomed!
Film at 11.
5.56mm
Phosphoric acid.
I’ve used vinegar to clean out a motorcycle gas tank.
The tank had a fair amount of rust in it so I experimented with a few things but never tried Coke.
Metal Rescue is some great stuff.
Electrolysis works, at least in my case it did.
Phosphoric acid is in both regular and diet sodas.
The caramel colorings have some questionable properties.
Regular coke can take rust off of metal and porcelain rust stains.
Healthy stomachs can handle the low pH fine. What people really have trouble with is the large amount of sugar, especially when they drink large amounts of it a day.
Peope underestimate the root of so many health problems related to sugar intake.
Time to run out into the street and panic. :)
It contains the deadly DHMO!
Ban it!
I am weird, but I love ice cold water. Not warm, not kind of cool, ice cold. Crave it.
Cannot stand diet sodas. If I am going to drink soda: Dr. Pepper or Whole Foods Cola.
Can’t stand alcohol, smell or taste. And my stomach rolls when I smell coffee.
I’m the same way. People laugh because I’ll put ice cubes in beer, wine, or chocolate milk. Anything I’m drinking. But especially water has to be ice cold.
For what it’s worth— with all the commentary here on the components
of soda... Coca Cola buys a coca extract that is still in the original
Coke recipe. This was after the Pure Food and Drug act made coca
extracts illegal, so Coca Cola substituted another alkaloid
stimulant with a very similar chemical structure: Caffeine.
Here is the source on the current extract still used. The ship comes
in to a port in NJ, and is a sealed DEA inspected and certified
cargo delivery to Stepan, Co. : May, Clifford D. “How Coca-Cola Obtains Its Coca”, The New York Times, July 1, 1988. Accessed April 11, 2008. “A Stepan laboratory in Maywood, N.J., is the nation’s only legal commercial importer of coca leaves, which it obtains mainly from Peru and, to a lesser extent, Bolivia. Besides producing the coca flavoring agent sold to The Coca-Cola Company, Stepan extracts cocaine from the coca leaves, which it sells to Mallinckrodt Inc., a St. Louis pharmaceutical manufacturer that is the only company in the United States licensed to purify the product for medicinal use.”
No idea who the woman would have been, but Gracie died in 1964.
Probably George’s second wife.
Legally, Gracie was his second wife. His first marriage was never consummated. He never married after Gracie’s death.
AFAIK, George and Gracie were married in the Catholic Church.
And PPPTH.
Water itself has no flavor.
Water with air dissolved has a flavor most people find pleasant.
In the olden days, there were seltzer dispensers with those little chargers. Are those still available?
Seriously, that would be great to have on a private back porch.
