I’ve noticed that my desire for soda is more because of the carbonation, not the sweetness or fake sweetness. Those ‘fizzy’ seltzer waters are just as satisfying to me.

There’s a little bit of everything in everything. That’s why they invented the terms “PPM” and “PPB” and PPT.”

The cokes we get from Mexico are the only ones we can find with real sugar

George Burns lived to be a 100 and did nothing but smoke cigars and enjoyed the occasional adult beverage.

Back in the mid seventies I worked as a delivery driver in Los Angeles. We did a ton of work for the entertainment industry, so I wound up meeting a lot of famous people.

One day I had to deliver a package to George Burns' house. I ring the bell and an elderly woman with a New York accent answers the door (i assumed she was his wife). The smell of cigar smoke immediately hits my nostrils.

I tell her that I've got a package for Mr Burns and she goes to accept it, but I tell her that it's legal papers, and only Mr Burns can sign for it.

She turns and tells, "George, you've got a package! The man says you have to come sign for it!"

He didn't really need to sign for it. I just wanted to meet him in person ;-)

Next thing I know, there he is, big ole cigar in his mouth, in the flesh. I gave him the package and had him sign while telling him how much I admired him and appreciated his work.

He looks at me with smile and a twinkle in his eye, and says, "Why, thank you son." It was one of the best celeb meetings I ever had.

The Libs I work with drink purified water out of bottles made of carcinogenic plastic haha! I tell them that if I drink a glass of wine it’s good for the heart so I should be able to smoke a cigar and break even! Insert head exploding Imogi here.

That would have been either cyclamates or saccharin. Aspartame or sucralose taste fine to most people.

I am a wine person and at the risk of being called a snob admit I enjoy learning about the red grape

I don’t like the effects of alcohol much at all unlike many who live intoxication of varying levels

But a great full bodied red regardless where from goes in my view best with good simple bread with a nice high fat sweet or salted butter

Or with a roasted chicken.....rosemary Chicken in particular

And of course duck or pheasant

To me even a great burgundy just gets lost with steak or roast beef

But the first two....bread and toast chicken....really blast off with good reds

Oxidane can kill you faster than Diet Coke.

It’s a fact...

I saw a ‘73 Camaro rust-bucket burned down to barenaked steel using ‘Original Coke’. Full strength, undiluted!

It was a learning moment for me...

:^)

chemicals found in rust remover, steel cleaner, and cement, albeit in tiny quantities.

I hate bad science. If you drink water in extreme excess it will kill you due to electrolyte imbalance. You will lose potassium and then go into a fatal cardiac arrhythmia.

Harm is defined by quantities and total ingestion of food and electrolytes. Water is essential to life. It will also kill you if taken in extreme excess.

It should also be noted the chemicals mentioned are phosphates that are also essential to life. They can also kill you in great excess. If you do not have them in your diet you will also die.

The article is bad science!

My Dad cleaned the rust off a 6-inch Crescent wrench by soaking it in ‘regular’ Coca-Cola (diet hadn’t been invented yet).

As kids we had fun making "new" pennies from old by using Coca-Cola or Taco Bell hot sauce.

You rock!! :)

I buy vitamin water sometimes.

I HATE water. It doesn’t taste like anything.

It’s GREAT for when you really work out hard or after a sports game.

Those days are long over for me :)

Not to get too deep, but whether we’re here 50, 80 or 120 years, it’s still a meaningless drop in the bucket if there’s no God.

So, I dont condone shooting heroin, but if you like diet soda, drink diet soda.

Maybe so, but I don't consume food products containg those ingredients, either - aspartame in particular.

probably loaded with that nasty dihydrogen monoxide

Very nasty stuff it is. I think I will now go and drink a glass of water to get its taste out of my mouth. /S
