He's always enjoyed an outrageously painted and incredibly fast vehicle. But it seems Justin Bieber finally tired of one of his many thoroughbreds, a 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia, as he showed up at the famous Barrett Jackson auto auction in Scottsdale to unload the custom motor on Saturday. The 22-year-old pop sensation took the stage at the event with his first number one hit, What Do You Mean, playing in the background, according to AZ Central.

Discovery Channel was airing the Barrett Jackson auto auction live from Scottsdale, AZ. I was watching when Bieger's Ferrari was being auctioned. The auction was going nowhere until Bieber decided to remove the reserve which was not met at the time. I am no car aficionado but my feeling was the custom car destroyed the aesthetics of the Ferrari. It is like some hack painter deciding to modify a Da Vinci. Floyd Mayweather showed up to auction off his Bugatti.

I was watching the auction as well. That 1965 custom VW van type II with the Safari windows was amazing. Not sure it was 270k amazing. It was highest in shown up to that point. I believe a 1930 Duesenburg went for almost 900k later in the day.

Back in the day all original cars went for the big bucks, now customized non original cars are carrying big values as well.

The car sold for a couple hundred thousand dollars more than similar cars, so someone is a BIG Bieber fan.

I wonder if he sold it just because the customization made it too conspicuous.

I am reminded of what happened to James Dean with a fast car.

Was that the same auction that had a reserve of $1 million for a 70s Plymouth yesterday? Watched it long enough to see it didn’t sell. Duh, the owner did it for camera time. Thinking that many roll out their vehicles just to say it was on tv.
