President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama welcomed President-elect Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, at the White House, where they exchanged pleasantries and posed for pictures.

And I wish Michelle would learn some etiquette. Melania offered her hand. That's what you do....not grab and hug. That would p*** me off.
So Trump was supposed to run around to the other side of the car...and help Melania out of the car?? And in the meantime, Trump is out and Michelle is yelling "Come On Down"...
It's as bad as....Barron was yawning...
Obamas rode in a similar vehicle to meet the Bushes and they both got out of the same side of the car , with Obama letting Michelle walk up a little ahead of him . Some think this was acting gentlemanly . What has security have to do with Melania getting out of the opposite side of the car ? Donald could have waited for her , no ?
It looked like a gracious greeting all around. There is a lot to criticize Obama about, especially his reprehensible behavior the past two months. But this was nice.
I thought the libs were all about women not needing men. They’d have been all over Melania for having to be helped out of the car by Trump. Can’t win.
About the awkward moment with the gift. Moo presented Laura with a gift at that same spot and the same time (minus 8 years). So, don’t let the msm spread those lies anymore. Laura, always the lady, accepted the gift graciously without playing hot potato like Moo did Friday.
I love Donald, and he should have retrieved Melania first.
He normally behaves in a courtly manner, possibly he was just per-occupied, nevertheless...
President Trump should have escorted Melania up to the photo-op no doubt but I’m more concerned with Melania getting Moochie cooties......yuk!
I don’t understand why they both didn’t get out of the same side of the car .
I’m confused and stone sober, and I could swear that Melania got out of the car with the gift in her hand and she handed it to Michelle. What am I not seeing when I keep reading that the gift exchange was from Michelle to Melania?
Trump did not wait for Melania to come around from the other side of the car with the present and ascend the stairs together . It looked like he didn’t even know or care if she was there . Very awkward . Obama , on the other hand , when the Obamas were welomed by the Bushes in 2009 , DID wait for her and together ascended the stairs and greeted the Bushes . Don’t know what you are not seeing BTW . Melania gave the Obamas a gift , just as the Obamas presented the Bushes with one in 2008 .

Of course. What we are supposed to see and surmise is that Trump isn’t a gentleman and doesn’t love his wife. This is what the MSM and social media is now pushing since the whole Barron “dust up” so there ya go.

Maybe. But it’s just nitpicking really.
Awkward for whom? Milania seemed fine. Trump seemed fine. Who exactly was it awkward for? Oh right. The MSM and social media. Both of whom are pushing this along with the first dance at the inaugural. It apparently shows that Barack and Michelle have a real love as opposed to The Trumps who have a fake love.
If my eyes rolled any further they’d be out of my face.
Not nitpicking. When courtesy is lacking it’s much missed, especially when it’s missing from your husband. It caused me discomfort to see it, and I felt empathy for her, even though I suspect it was unintentional on his part.
