Our GSD is a little over 10 and is as fast and smart as she was when she arrived about 8 years ago.
Other than a little gray around the muzzle, it’s hard to tell she is a senior dog.
The vet always says great things about her health and overall condition.
Looks good on camera too:
Your German shepherd is really young looking.
My German shepherd is listed by my rescue in 2011 as an 11 year old but I think she is closer to 13-14 years old.
She is all gray around the muzzle and much of the face but she does not take any prescription medications and can still jump and run.
Two year old Remington keeps her busy.

Beautiful.
My first GSD was a rescue, smart, tough, ‘common sense’ if he had been a person. It was my second one that was just bred for looks to the detriment of intelligence. Damned nice looking dog, though, and as friendly as they came. Still miss him
Current dog is an American Bulldog. Love her to death, very independent.
I’ll take the worst dog ever over anyone who dislikes dogs when it comes to companionship. It’s all I can do to not start casting aspersions as to parentage, hygiene and sexual practices regarding ‘people’ who dislike particular breeds of dogs :-)
