Wonder why the entire 7th floor of the State Department was fired? Did they think that after Hillary lost, nobody was going?

Who was responsible for arranging the accommodations? Was it a snub, incompetence or an inexperienced person who didn’t realize that the press would run wild with the bad symbolism?
Either way, it’s a gaffe. I suspect it won’t be allowed to happen again.

“On his first trip abroad as U.S. secretary of state, Rex Tillerson was forced to stay at a sanitarium in a German village known for its hot springs, 30 minutes from where other world leaders gathered.”
I like staying at hot springs.
Oh, and who “forced” him to stay there?

Really. The conference organizers didn’t reserve room at the hotel for the US delegation?
He couldn’t stay at the US embassy in Bonn? Which is just a few minutes from the conference?

Allies are anxious and obviously assuming the worse, that the U.S. may be preparing to pull back from the alliance writ large. Well, yes. If this is a surprise to anyone at this point they haven't been paying attention.
