Stupid girl. She needs to at very least lose her phone and car privileges for a while. The boy has already paid for not thinking before he acted. His family cannot really blame the homeowner but they probably will anyway for a while.
This tragedy should make the father wonder #1. How many times had this boy sneaked in before, and #2. How many other guys period have been coming by during the night? #3. Was there alcohol being drank (age 17!) or were there illegal drugs being brought in? #4. Who else knows he was coming over?
Or he should have raised his daughter in manner in which she would not be inclined to not invite dudes over in the middle of the night.
