The man credited with honing Donald Trumps populist message and guiding him into the White House has grown frustrated amid continued infighting in the West Wing, so much so that in recent weeks a top donor had to convince him to stay in his position.
Five people, including a senior administration official and several sources close to the president, tell POLITICO that Bannon, one of Trumps closest advisers, has clashed with the presidents son-in-law Jared Kushner, whos taken on an increasingly prominent portfolio in the West Wing. Bannon has complained that Kushner and his allies are trying to undermine his populist approach, the sources said.

He just changed chairs. Geez....
He personally told me ladt night “I will never quit.”
Definitive enough?
But did you ask him if there was a faction trying to get rid of him?
Kushner’s a Democrat, but he’s also a son-in-law, so Bannon will not win this battle. When he leaves, he should have a very interesting book at the publishers. (In today’s political climate, it would be too dangerous to quit and then write the book.)
Any transfer of influence from Bannon to Kushner is terrible. Kushner is NYC leftist girding for war in Syria. He represents exactly the opposite of what Trump ran and won on.
Trump likes that “competing staff voices thrashing it out” model. At the end of the day, he decides.
Bannon won’t win UNLESS someone else that Trump values keeps him in place..not saying it would be the Mercers..but...against Prince and Princess he needs a backer.
Bannon is ruthless. I hope he takes the position that he will have to be fired.
I want him to stay.
He would never answer a question like that nor would I ask.
Politico, very fake news.
I can see that to some extent.
Kind of like a King Maker.
I still haven’t seen a good explanation as to why Bossert isn’t allowed to set the agenda for HSC and must rely on McMaster to grant him the privilege at Mcmaster’s discretion.
The Yankee’s Game of Thrones; Part 2 (After the Goldrush).
So in the end, you comment doesn’t mean that one side of the faction doesn’t want him out....or a major reduction in roles...or that this is just fake news.
It just means that he says he won’t quit. Like digging in his heels.
Sure..because you can’t possibly conceive that the Kushner/Cohn/Powell side of the faction might be much more lib leaning than Ruthless Bannon.
I trust Bannon’s judgement, but I have concerns about Kushner pushing his way into the White House and overstepping boundaries. I also don’t like Priebus. I hope Trump realizes that Ryan set him up and screwed him (with Priebus’ help, I suspect.)
Somebody..I think Cernovich..keeps pinpointing that the media doesn’t go after Priebus.
It might be a little here or there..but it really isn’t normal in this environment.
Jared and Ivanka have no business being in those high-level positions. No business at all!
Certainly we must just be seeing the tip of the iceberg here. Why would Trump force Bannon out and at the same time NOT be trying to get rid of the back-stabbing, incompetent Paul Ryno?
Ivanka and husband need to piss off away from DC, and get back to running their own business, or the family business.
