Sometimes, you can’t go home again. The teacher’s wife has already started divorce proceedings. Too many bonds of trust have been broken.

What about the girl? She may be better off living in a foster home until she’s 18, vs moving back home. If she has any younger siblings, a parent may worry that this girl would be a bad influence on those younger siblings. She has already made it crystal clear that she was not happy in the family home.

My fear is (not that I agree) the local community sees him as a sympathetic figure and will take his side.

Bite your tongue, foster homes can be hell on earth. Her dad had been going through bad health looking for her. He did his best as a parent. When the real mom abuse her, he believed the children and got rid of the b!tch. That is more than a lot of other parents would have done, all too many believe the parent and not the children or side with the adults and not kids. Am almost sure the dad will do what he can to get her help as will the community at this point.

According to this article, she is one of 10 children, and her mother is not lalowed any contact with her due to earlier abuse situation. She lived with her dad. Poor kid.
