Garoppolo isn’t over-hyped, in my opinion.

He can play, and as a New England fan, I have had the opportunity to watch every down he has played, and have seen him in practices as well. He has it. Very different from Cassel. With Cassel, we had to use him because he was the best option, but there is (and was) a clear difference in his play as compared to Garoppolo.

The guy can play...and I don’t say this at all from the perspective of wanting to get a high pick for him.

Let’s put it this way, I would be thrilled if there was any way he could stick around New England, but we know, barring either a precipitous drop-off in Brady’s capability or an unexpected severe injury, he won’t be here after this season.

He is going to get a payday, and I think he is going to live up to it.

Patriots fan here too, heh heh, and while I don’t “want” Jimmy G to go away, if there really is a serious prospect that Brady will play 3+ more years then it makes no sense not to get best value for Garoppolo now. Also, for Jimmy’s own sake I’d like to see him able to enjoy a full career as an NFL starter somewhere than to spend more time as a back-up.

As for Cleveland, well ofc they will do what they think is best for them. But I don’t see how taking a chance on one of the current draft QBs or continuing with their pathetic QB roulette could make as much sense as giving Garoppolo a shot. IF they don’t get going with a decent QB one of these days they will remain pathetic forever.

So glad it’s not my problem, ha ha.
