A divided zeitgeist, at least in America.
Half of the country wants greatness and a return to the rule of law, where someone who wants to work hard has the opportunity to get ahead, and behavior that promotes family values and safety in polite society.
The other half wants dependence on government, massive redistribution of wealth, elimination of any gain by those who are successful in life, and acceptance of behavior and lifestyle that is founded in the deepest and basest of perversions.
How’d I do?
Captures the spirit of the age pretty well. There is a schizophrenia about this age pitting good against evil with equal forces in each camp and the definitions changing like a magnet flipping its poles. Each side claims to adhere to the highest good and portrays the other as consummate evil.
