Smash Mouth Fires Back at Radio Host for Hating on Stephen Curry

Calling Stephen Curry “classless” and “a clown” is sure to draw the ire of Smash Mouth.

If the end of that sentence sounds odd, you must have missed the Bay Area band’s previous Twitter posts involving Draymond Green and the Oakland A’s.

The guys behind the 1999 hit single “All Star” — or, at least, whoever handles the guys’ official band handle on Twitter — blasted New York City radio host Mike Francesa for his hot take on Curry.

For an athlete who makes so many great plays, Curry is actually quite reserved. He's certainly not going to try to show up opposing NBA players, most of whom are bigger than he is, and no one is going to try to show up LeBron James, who is one of the greatest players of all time and not a guy any team wants stirred up.

Curry was just excited over a great play. He wouldn't be human if he didn't exhibit a little emotion from time to time. Sports talk guys have to have something to talk about and they'll throw out whatever they can in hopes of getting someone to call in.

I read his statements at the time. He was not condemnatory. That is hardly supportive.

You have no clue what Steph does for his family and his team and his community. If you did you wouldn’t sound so ill informed

Ordination is not such a big deal. I know lots of that set. Their actions are nothing to write home about
