Really, Trump did Comey a mercy when he warned him there might be tapes. You'd think he would have been more careful in his testimony. He was pretty careful, but still he messed up. If there are tapes, he is well and truly cooked.

In NYS it’s illegal to tape someone without their knowledge or consent.
The only way President Trump would have tapes is if they were confiscated from Comey’s office when he was fired. It would be that Comey taped and not Trump.
Everything the POTUS says is taped so there is no misunderstanding of what his orders are. If he decided to not record when talking to Comey I would be shocked. I knew 4 star generals in the AF back in the 70s that everything they said was taped for the same reason.
