True, but I think you might be overlooking Trump's motive for saying that. He might have been trying to FORCE Comey to tell the TRUTH by making him think there are tapes, knowing there were not.

I question Comey's psycological well-being and it would not surprise me if he made things up then convinced himself his fantasy comments were real. All the lefty sycophants share this wacko state of mind, including "not even a smidgen of corruption" Obama and "protest over that awful video" Hillary and that "Bergdahl served with honor and distinction" Susan Rice, etc...
