There should be a time limit not more than a few months in the future by which time “Dreamers” will have had to register. How can there be rational calls for compassion toward them when they ignore the requirement that they register?
If this is true, I am surprised he did not get something in return. He should have left it on the table to get other things out of the Dems.
We’ve got to make it to where anchor babies aren’t allowed to stay either. If a parent has not been in the USA legally for 1+ years, the child is not here legally either.

The Trump administration is formally revoking an Obama-era program intended to protect immigrant parents of U.S. citizens and legal residents from deportation. The Deferred Action for Parents of Americans program was announced by the Obama administration in 2014 but was blocked by a federal judge in Texas after 26 states challenged the program’s legality in federal court. Kelly formally revoked the policy memo that created the program, which mirrored an earlier effort to protect young immigrants in the country illegally from deportation on June 15.

DAPA and DACA were to be undone immediately.
DAPA was stopped by the courts, unfortunately no one sued to stop DACA.
DACA did not become legal and constitutional just because it is now run by President Trump.
We cannot restore the rule of law when Presidents ignore it.
1. Trump did NOT “ok” Dreamers. He DEFERRED going after them, but took out their parents with ending DAPA.
2. By tightening drug rules/criminalization, he/Sessions in fact HAVE “targeted” a % of dreamers for now they can be deported with no fuss, no muss via criminal charges.
3. Of all Trump’s issues, this one is probably the most politically difficult and to me it’s entirely reasonable to take the low-hanging fruit and get some legislative victories first.
4. You can bet if his vetting proposals get the blessing of the USSC he will revisit this quickly.
Donald Trump is President because he won 53% of white female voters.
The DREAM act is overwhelmingly popular with those voters. Doing things that are “mean” is poison to them.
You do the math. He has other fish to fry.
